Your DJ shapes the whole evening, so it’s worth asking the right questions before you book. Here are the twelve we’d ask if we were in your shoes.
Experience
1. How many weddings have you played?
Weddings are different from club nights or parties. Ask how many weddings your DJ has played, and at what kind of venues. We’ve played hundreds across Yorkshire, and DJ Wayne was named Regional DJ of the Year.
2. Can we read your reviews?
Recent reviews from real couples tell you more than any sales pitch.
Music
3. How do we plan our music together?
Look for a proper planning process. Our couples plan everything through an online portal, then we have a final call about four weeks before the wedding.
4. Will you play our must-plays and avoid our do-not-plays?
The answer should be a simple yes.
5. Do you take guest requests?
A good DJ takes requests while still respecting your do-not-play list.
On the day
6. When do you arrive to set up?
We set up about an hour before the evening starts and pack down within 45 minutes of the end.
7. What does your setup look like?
Your DJ booth will be in hundreds of photos. Ask to see it. Ours is an elegant all-white setup.
8. Can you host the day as well?
Some DJs only play the evening. Our All Day Wedding Host package covers introductions, announcements and key moments from the wedding breakfast to the last dance.
Price and extras
9. What’s included in the price?
Check the hours, sound, lighting and any planning meetings. See how much a wedding DJ costs.
10. Can we extend past midnight?
We offer extra time in half-hour steps, up to 2am.
11. What extras do you offer?
Uplighting, cold spark fountains, an LED dancefloor and light-up letters can all add wow factor. See our extras.
12. How do we secure our date?
With us, a £100 booking fee secures your date and the balance is due 14 days before the wedding.
