Our Evening DJ package covers five hours, and where your venue’s licence allows, you can keep the party going after midnight in half-hour blocks up to 2am.
Getting Married at Wortley Hall
Wortley Hall stands in the village of Wortley, between Sheffield and Barnsley, and its story is unlike any other stately home in South Yorkshire. Built between 1731 and 1761 and long the seat of the Earls of Wharncliffe, it was bought in 1950 by a co-operative of trade union activists and opened in 1951 as a home for the labour movement. It is still run as a non-profit co-operative today, and the Grade II* listed house sits within around 26 acres of formal gardens and woodland.
The rooms are generous. The Unite Ballroom can host up to 200 for a civil ceremony and as many as 300 in the evening, while the Foundry Dining Room is mainly used for wedding breakfasts. The Lounge offers another licensed option for a smaller ceremony. A terrace opens onto the formal gardens, so guests can spill outside for drinks and photos after the vows, and there is accommodation on site for anyone who wants to stay.
Your Evening at Wortley Hall
With the ballroom able to take a big evening crowd, it is the natural home for the party, and its scale means the dancefloor can be the centrepiece rather than squeezed into a corner. We plan with the hall how the day moves between rooms, so the all-white DJ booth and uplighting are ready in the ballroom while guests are still enjoying dinner elsewhere. Uplighting works especially well against the period details, and if you would like cold spark fountains for the first dance, we check with the venue that they can be used.
