One of the first things couples ask is how many hours of DJ they actually need. The answer depends on your evening timings, but there’s a sweet spot that works for most weddings.
Five hours suits most evening receptions
Our Evening Package covers up to five hours, usually from around 7pm to midnight. That covers everything from evening guests arriving to your last song:
- Relaxed background music as evening guests arrive
- Your first dance
- Building the dancefloor
- A quieter set during evening food
- The peak party hours
- Your last song
When to extend past midnight
If your venue allows a later finish and your guests are party people, you can keep going after midnight in half-hour steps, up to 2am. Many couples decide this nearer the time, once they know their venue’s finish time.
When to book an all-day host
If you’d like one person to run the whole day, from the wedding breakfast to the last dance, our All Day Wedding Host package is the answer. It covers introductions, speeches, announcements and every key moment, then flows straight into your evening party.
Check your venue’s finish time
Many venues have a fixed finish time, often around midnight. Ask your venue before you plan any extra time.
What about set-up time?
Set-up isn’t part of your playing time. We arrive about an hour before the evening starts, so everything is ready before your guests come through.
