Our Evening DJ package covers five hours, and where your venue’s licence allows, you can keep the party going after midnight in half-hour blocks up to 2am.
A Castle Wedding at Cluny Castle
Cluny Castle sits behind private gates at the end of a tree-lined drive near the village of Sauchen in Aberdeenshire. The house dates back to the 15th century and is still very much a family home, inherited by Cosmo Linzee Gordon in 2010 and being restored by him and his wife Bronya. Recent work has refreshed the West Wing and top floor while keeping the castle’s traditional character intact.
Ceremonies take place in the private chapel at the heart of the castle, which welcomes religious, humanist, civil and inter-faith services. After drinks and canapés around the lawns and woodland, guests move into the Tenant’s Hall, which seats up to around 94 for the wedding breakfast beneath a canopy of fairy lights. Smaller parties of up to 24 can dine in the Dining Room or Drawing Room instead, and a marquee on the lawn handles larger numbers. Up to 26 guests can stay overnight in the castle, and with only a limited number of weddings each year, every couple has the place entirely to themselves.
Planning Your Evening at Cluny Castle
The Tenant’s Hall doubles as the dancing space, so after dinner there is a turnaround while tables are moved and guests drift outside or into the castle’s other rooms. We set up in that window, placing our all-white DJ booth and uplighting so they add to the fairy-light canopy rather than competing with it. Where there is a marquee, the party moves there and we set up while guests are at dinner. Cold spark fountains for the first dance are only used once the family and coordinator have given the go-ahead.
No finish time or noise limit is published, so we confirm timings and sound levels with your coordinator ahead of the day.
