Our Evening DJ package covers five hours, and where your venue’s licence allows, you can keep the party going after midnight in half-hour blocks up to 2am.
Celebrating Your Wedding at Holdsworth House
Holdsworth House is a Jacobean manor built in 1633 on the northern side of Halifax, and it has been run by the same family as an independent hotel for more than sixty years. Inside you will find oak panelling, stone fireplaces and stone-flagged floors, while outside there are around three acres of walled gardens, hidden lawns and courtyards to explore with your photographer.
Ceremony options are varied for a venue of this size. You can marry in one of the historic rooms indoors, in the enclosed Stone Courtyard under festoon lights, on the main lawns during the warmer months, or in the tiny stone gazebo, which is often described as one of the smallest licensed ceremony spaces in the country and is perfect for an elopement. The wedding breakfast is served by candlelight in the oak-panelled restaurant for up to 120 guests, and with over 30 individually styled bedrooms, exclusive use of the house is a popular choice.
How the Evening Works at Holdsworth House
For the evening reception, the party usually moves to the Stuart Room, a larger and more flexible space that takes up to around 150 guests, while the restored Barn Courtyard offers a more modern setting for evening drinks. That move from the restaurant gives us time to set up quietly before the first dance. Our all-white DJ booth and uplighting sit well against the panelling and stonework, and the venue publishes an entertainment licence running until 12.30am, which leaves plenty of time on the dancefloor.
