King Street Townhouse is a boutique hotel on one of Manchester’s smartest streets, close to the Town Hall and Albert Square. The building was designed by local architect Edward Salomons in 1872 as a savings bank, and the listed exterior now wraps around stylish modern interiors with 40 bedrooms and suites. The headline feature is the seventh-floor rooftop infinity pool, which looks across the city skyline towards the Town Hall clock tower.
The hotel suits couples who want a smaller, polished city wedding. It is licensed for civil ceremonies, with a first-floor ceremony room, and caters for up to 80 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, rising to around 100 in the evening. Higher up, the south-facing sixth-floor terrace is covered, so drinks with a view work whatever the Manchester weather, and below ground the cellars house a private cinema and a wine room that are great for a rehearsal dinner or a quieter gathering the night before.

With a guest list of up to 100 in the evening, the party has a close, stylish feel, more like a private members’ club than a function suite.
