Our Evening DJ package covers five hours, and where your venue’s licence allows, you can keep the party going after midnight in half-hour blocks up to 2am.
Getting Married at The Hovels at Harewood
The Hovels sit on the Harewood estate, between Leeds and Harrogate, close to woodland and a short drive from the main house. They date from the late eighteenth century and were designed by Robert Carr, the architect of Harewood House itself. The first building housed estate workers, a stable block followed a couple of decades later, and over the years the site has been a shooting lodge and a classroom before becoming the event space it is today.
A refurbishment in 2019 joined the two old buildings with a glass atrium and added a kitchen, a bar and a wedding licence. Heating comes from a biomass plant fuelled by wood chips from estate woodland, which suits couples who care about sustainability. The food has the same local focus, built around produce grown, reared or foraged on the estate. Inside, around 80 guests can sit down to eat and about 120 can join the reception, and for larger weddings a marquee can be put up in the field just south of the building. You get exclusive use, with set-up time the day before.
How We Plan the Evening at The Hovels
Because the space is intimate, every detail of the set-up counts. We usually place our all-white DJ booth so it sits neatly against the old stonework while leaving the atrium free for guests to flow between the bar and the dance floor, and soft uplighting turns the glass link into a real feature after dark. If you add a marquee, we plan power and layout with the estate in advance. Cold spark fountains may be possible for the first dance, subject to the estate’s approval.
