Our Evening DJ package covers five hours, and where your venue’s licence allows, you can keep the party going after midnight in half-hour blocks up to 2am.
Your Wedding at Thicket Priory
Out in the flat, quiet farmland of the Lower Derwent Valley, in the village of Thorganby south-east of York, Thicket Priory is an exclusive-use country house surrounded by a peaceful nature reserve. The house has been carefully restored, and its rooms carry plenty of stories from its long past, which the team are happy to share with you and your guests.
For many couples the draw is having the entire house to themselves. All 35 en-suite bedrooms are included, so family and friends can stay over and two-day celebrations are easy to arrange. There are four places to hold a ceremony: indoors in the stained-glass Chapel or the Morning Room, or outdoors at the Bandstand or on the Front Lawn. As the Chapel is not licensed for legal marriage, couples who choose it have a celebrant-led ceremony there and complete the legal formalities in the Jefferson Room on the day or the day before. Up to 160 guests can be seated for the ceremony and dinner, rising to around 250 for the evening. Elsewhere you will find a ballroom, the Old Kitchen and a run of characterful service rooms.

With the house booked exclusively and everyone staying over, there is no rush to the evening, and the in-house bar is licensed until 1am. We plan the dancefloor with the venue team based on your guest numbers and layout, so the room is ready in plenty of time for your first dance. Period rooms like these look wonderful with warm uplighting, and our all-white DJ booth brings a crisp, modern touch without fighting the decor. Cold spark fountains can be added if the house approves them.
