Your Wedding at Wynyard Hall
Set in parkland near Billingham, on the County Durham side of the Tees Valley, Wynyard Hall is a grand stately home that hosts just one wedding a day, so the house and grounds are yours for the celebration. Couples have the main hall to themselves, with classic bedrooms, suites and family rooms upstairs, plus four hot-tub cottages in the grounds sleeping between six and twelve guests each.
The hall is unusual in having its own chapel, which means religious and civil ceremonies can both take place without leaving the estate. Civil vows can also be held in one of the state rooms, or out on the terrace in warmer months, looking towards the lake. Afterwards, drinks are served in the Statue Gallery beneath its stained glass ceiling, a room that tends to stop guests in their tracks, before everyone moves through to the Conservatory for the wedding breakfast.
The flow of the day is a big part of the appeal. Rather than staying in one function suite, you move from room to room as the celebration unfolds, with smaller side rooms available as a late-night bar or a quieter corner for older relatives.
