Our Evening DJ package covers five hours, and where your venue’s licence allows, you can keep the party going after midnight in half-hour blocks up to 2am.
Getting Married at Oaklands
Oaklands sits at Hempholme, deep in the East Yorkshire countryside between Driffield and Brandesburton, surrounded by around 200 acres of woodland around a peaceful lake. The heart of the venue is The Grand Lodge, a striking timber-clad building with views across the water, and the whole setting has a calm, tucked-away feel that suits couples who want their wedding to feel like an escape. It’s an easy drive from Beverley, Hull and the coast, but once you arrive it feels a world away.
Ceremonies can take place in the Outdoor Pavilion, which seats around 200 and looks out over the lake, or in the indoor Lakeside Lodge for about 120. The Grand Lodge then hosts the wedding breakfast for up to around 200, with a large bar, dancefloor and mezzanine level, and capacity for around 300 standing in the evening. Fourteen lodges on site, including a honeymoon lodge and family lodges, mean many of your guests can stay overnight, and there’s even a separate lodge for getting ready.
How We Plan Your Evening at Oaklands
The Grand Lodge is built for a party, and its mezzanine and lakeside views give the evening plenty of atmosphere. As your Oaklands wedding DJ, we’ll plan the layout with the venue team so our all-white DJ booth sits well with the dancefloor and the bar, keeping the room flowing as guests move between drinks and dancing. Uplighting works beautifully against the timber interior once darkness falls over the lake. The bar is licensed until midnight, so we shape the night to build steadily towards a big finish for the last hour. If you’d like cold spark fountains for your first dance, we confirm with Oaklands that they can be used, and we check sound levels with the team before the day.
