Our Evening DJ package covers five hours, and where your venue’s licence allows, you can keep the party going after midnight in half-hour blocks up to 2am.
Getting Married at Wentbridge House
Beside the old Great North Road in the village of Wentbridge, a few miles south-east of Pontefract, Wentbridge House is a Georgian-style country house whose datestone points to 1700. Over three centuries it has passed through the hands of local sheep breeders, a Victorian banker and a shipbuilder, before opening as a hotel in 1960. The Page family have owned and run it since 1993, and it sits in around 20 acres of gardens by the valley of the River Went.
The gardens are a big part of the appeal. A magnificent beech tree dominates the lawn and has become a favourite backdrop for wedding photographs, and couples can marry outdoors at the Garden Folly as well as inside the house, with the village church within walking distance for anyone who prefers a religious service. The hotel can seat around 130 for a wedding breakfast and welcome up to about 170 for the evening. With 41 bedrooms, including bridal and honeymoon suites and a four-poster room for the wedding night, most of your guests can stay on site, and an in-house coordinator looks after the detail.

After the meal, guests usually drift out into the gardens while the team prepare the room for dancing, so the dancefloor is ready by the time the evening guests arrive. Period rooms like these suit a softer, more elegant look, so we pair our all-white DJ booth with warm uplighting that picks out the architecture without overpowering it. If the hotel is happy for cold spark fountains to be used, they add real sparkle to the first dance.
