Celebrating at Carlton Towers
Carlton Towers rises above the flat farmland around the village of Carlton, just south of Selby. Its origins lie in the 17th century, but what guests see today is a dramatic Victorian Gothic remodelling, regarded as one of the best-preserved houses of its era in England. The house has been hosting weddings in its staterooms for around 30 years.
The wedding package gives you exclusive use of the three grand state rooms, along with the Minstrels’ Gallery, the entrance halls, the bar and the grounds. The house is licensed for civil ceremonies of up to around 200 guests, and after the vows everyone usually heads onto the front lawn for drinks and canapés. Sixteen bedrooms mean you and your closest family can stay overnight, and an in-house planner and events team look after the detail throughout.
Your Evening Party at Carlton Towers
Dancing in Victorian state rooms is a very different experience from a standard function room, and our job is to make the evening feel like a party while respecting the house. We plan with the events team which state room becomes the dancefloor, set up while guests are enjoying the lawn or the bar, and keep cabling and equipment tidy and discreet. Our all-white DJ booth looks clean and elegant against the period interiors, and carefully placed uplighting brings out the colours and detail of each room. Cold spark fountains are only used where the house allows them.
