Lodore Falls Hotel stands in Borrowdale, a few miles south of Keswick, with frontage onto Derwentwater on one side and the tumbling Lodore Falls in the woods behind. Around 40 acres of grounds surround the hotel, and the famous Surprise View is only a short drive up the valley, which makes it one of the most scenic spots in the Lake District to say your vows. The hotel has been extensively refurbished in recent years, adding a spa that opened in 2018, and it offers a honeymoon suite and a run of luxurious suites for the wedding party.
Couples can choose a licensed civil ceremony inside or step out to the garden gazebo for an outdoor ceremony framed by fells and water, with room for up to 120 guests. The hotel has several event suites, including a recently refurbished wedding suite, and seats up to 120 for a sit-down meal, rising to around 150 for an evening reception. A licensed bar and a dancefloor are already in place, and there’s even a spa champagne bar for the morning after.
