Our Evening DJ package covers five hours, and where your venue’s licence allows, you can keep the party going after midnight in half-hour blocks up to 2am.
Planning a Lakeside Wedding at Town Head Estate
On the quieter south-eastern shore of Windermere, near Newby Bridge, Town Head Estate is a private family estate of around 110 acres of ancient parkland running down to the lake. Opened for weddings by the Cox family, it has links to Lake District storytellers Arthur Ransome and Beatrix Potter, and the whole place has the unhurried feel of a country house weekend.
There are more ceremony settings here than at most venues. You can marry in the restored Old Barn, down by the water at the boathouse or on the shore, or outside on the terrace, in the orchard, at the bandstand, in the kitchen gardens or on the croquet lawn. Around 120 guests can be seated for the ceremony and meal, with room for about 150 in the evening. Catering comes from Karen Rhodes Weddings & Events, using local produce where it can. Bookings include a two-night stay, with three cottages and a bridal cottage sleeping up to 22, and a private beach means guests can try kayaking or paddleboarding the next morning.
How We Set Up Your Evening at Town Head
The furnished lounge, bar and terrace are all part of the venue hire, so the evening can spill between indoor and outdoor spaces while the sun sets over Windermere. We work with the estate team to place the dancefloor where it best suits your layout and guest numbers, then bring it to life with warm uplighting and our all-white DJ booth. If the estate approves cold spark fountains, they look magical against a lakeside backdrop.
The in-house bar is licensed until midnight, so as your Town Head Estate wedding DJ, Wayne will time the night to finish on a high just before then. With the estate tucked away in quiet countryside, we confirm sound levels and any house rules with the venue team before the day.
