Planning a Wedding at Springbank Manor
Just outside Darwen in Lancashire, in a countryside setting, Springbank Manor is a Victorian manor house that has been turned into a relaxed, characterful hotel. It works especially well for couples who want the whole wedding party staying in one place, with bedrooms for up to around 35 guests on site and parking right outside.
The house offers a choice of spaces depending on the size of your day. The Green Room suits smaller, more intimate ceremonies, while the newly refurbished 1898 Suite is the setting for larger celebrations. Civil ceremonies can be held indoors or out in the grounds, and the venue can host up to about 140 guests for the ceremony, the meal or a standing reception. There is also an orangery or marquee option, polished dining areas, a lively bar and a honeymoon suite for the two of you at the end of the night.

Most evening parties centre on the 1898 Suite, which comes with its own dancefloor and sits close to the bar, so guests can move easily between a drink and the dancing. After the wedding breakfast, while everyone heads out for photos or a stroll in the gardens, the room is reset and we finish preparing the floor. Our all-white DJ booth suits the refreshed interior, and colour-matched uplighting gives the suite a softer, more intimate feel after dark. The venue welcomes discos and even fireworks, and if cold spark fountains are approved on the day, they make a superb first-dance moment.
